Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A large-scale survey of graveyards in Newport and a series of rural parishes in northern and southern Pembrokeshire, which included both Welsh and English speaking areas and Church of Wales and non-conformist graveyards, was undertaken to examine the variability in mortuary practice during the nineteenth and twentieth century. The use of language on the monuments to study the cultural geography of the area is considered as the first part of an ongoing research project analysing the survey data. | ||||
