Gives an overview of a meeting on 'The Archaeology of Hunter-Gatherers', briefly describing the papers presented. Topics could be broadly grouped as those relevant to the British Isles; physical anthropology and the middle to upper Palaeolithic transition; new continents (papers on Alaska and Australia); and 'general' (covering site formation, and the potential implications of stylistic variation among projectile points). The impression left by the conference was of the disparateness of approaches to the prehistoric past being pursued.
