Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Small-scale excavations following storm damage showed that the east rampart, where sectioned, is low and poorly constructed. It is argued that the defences are unfinished. The absence of evidence of occupation in the interior suggests that it may never have been extensively occupied. There is an appendix giving brief details of `The plantation' (50) of trees on the site during the nineteenth--century. | |||
