Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The farmhouse was occupied from late medieval times until the 1950s, after which it fell into ruin. The partly-fallen timberwork, including remnants of a true cruck roof truss, was recorded and the site fully excavated. This joint paper discusses the combined evidence, and reviews the history of the associated smallholding. The farmhouse and roof are set in the context of other medieval houses in Christow. There is an appendix concerning `The pottery' by John Allan (182--3). | ||||||||||
