Abstract:
Report on the Malthouse at Haven Banks, Exeter, which was built as a brewery and cellar c. 1789. A malthouse range was added c. 1791, and the entire building was later converted for malting. The building was rebuilt shortly after c. 1870 and again c. 1900, when the existing malting kilns were constructed. The tenurial history of the site is discussed and the development of the buildings is described and illustrated. The documentary history of the site has been researched and is presented in an appendix. Includes
