Abstract:
Report on the remains of a small culvert, extending over a length of 14m, in Longbrook Street, Exeter, identifiable as having held a cast iron pipe laid down in the early nineteenth century as part of improvements to the city water supply. Backfilling of the underlying trench suggests that the trench also held the earlier medieval lead pipe providing the city's water supply, an example of which has been located elsewhere.
