Reports the discovery, in 1984, of Ireland's most southerly passage tomb on Cape Clear Island in Co Cork which is potentially threatened by the proposed construction of nearby electricity-producing windmills. The tomb is located 130km from the nearest examples on the Limerick/Tipperary border and is aligned on the rising sun of the summer solstice. A stone decorated with passage grave art was found about half a mile away in 1880 and is now on display in Cork Public Museum. | |||||
