Article reporting the findings of the 1984 season of excavations at Tatton Park in Cheshire, designed to investigate specific elements of a 13th century messuage, including a residential structure and the relationship of the messuage to a sunken road. In addition to the medieval remains, considerable evidence of prehistoric activity was revealed within the 1984 excavation area. The prehistoric features are described and a chronology suggested, beginning with a Mesolithic camp and including later prehistoric agricultural activity. LD | |||||||||
