Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Four distinct chronologies - Déchelette, Reinecke, Jacobsthal-Klindt-Jensen, Viollier - are currently in use. Most rely on imported exotica for their dating horizons. This study is based on the ordinary tombs of Champagne, using nearly 2000 well-excavated closed finds, deriving typologies and applying dates from well-dated tombs and stratigraphic sequences. A scheme is presented which runs from Hallstatt Final IIa (530-500 BC) to La Tène Final II (80-50 BC) in subdivisions of varying lengths of time.
