Animal bone deposition at Newgrange is analysed and comparison with Durrington Walls indicates that a greater amount of meat was being consumed in a ceremonial context. Deposits of animal bone at the site are thought to be connected with episodes of ceremonial use of the monument rather than being representative of the nature of the pastoral economy of the Late Neolithic Boyne Valley. | |||||||
