Abstract:
Three lead-alloy models are evidence for the production of early Anglo-Saxon bow brooches. Methods of brooch manufacture are discussed, including the issue of whether these items are primary or secondary models. Typological parallels suggest an East Anglian provenance, although nothing is known about the origins of these pieces.
