Abstract:
An Acheulian industry in association with a hominid molar in the cave represents the oldest hominid species from Wales and, except for the Swanscombe fossil, from Britain. The molar closely resembles Early Neanderthal fossils from Krapina. Uramum-thorium and thermoluminescence dates suggest an age for the specimen of about 200,000 yr. Sedimentological, geological and other studies. Bear-butchery shelter? Au(adp)
