Abstract:
A 2990-year floating tree-ring chronology has been constructed using bog oaks from low altitudes in NE Ireland. The construction of site chronologies and of the master chronology are described. Applications of this chronology and its extensions include 14C calibration, stable isotope measurements for palaeotemperature estimation, and climatic interpretations based on the ring widths.
