An architectural study of the Grade II* listed riverside `merchant's' house -- the town's finest -- which exhibits several phases of building from the possibly pre-1700 to the nineteenth century. The study is augmented by documentary evidence relating to the families who occupied the premises over two hundred years. One appendix discusses `The party wall with 25 King Street' (36-7 & 39), and another presents the `Flierden (Van Vlierden) and Vinckesteyn family tree' (38). | ||
