Abstract:
Recent excavations at Tarbock (Merseyside) have produced an unusual group of roof tile stamps, which confirm the reading of some fragmentary stamps found in Chester in 1972. The stamps are of the Twentieth Legion (consular date AD~167) and, as the stamp is not known from the Holt kiln site, it is suggested that there may have been a tile factory in the Tarbock area.
