This historical study commences with a brief survey of what was known about the mineral potential of Dublin City and its suburbs from the Middle Ages to the seventeenth century before concentrating on the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. By the nineteenth century, some thirty-four mineralised sites had been noted and fifteen of them worked. | |||
