Photographic record, presented in a 'then and now' format, of conservation works at the man engine house, Allihies, County Cork, completed in 2002 by specialist conservation builders, Darrock and Brown (Bodmin, Cornwall), under the technical supervision of the John Knevitt Practice, also of Bodmin. The works, which were managed by the Mining Heritage Trust of Ireland, Ltd, in partnership with the commonage shareholders of Cloan townland, Allihies, cost a total of €95,000, including supplementary works at second floor level on both the NW and SE wing walls.
