Abstract:
Summary of continuing monitoring and excavation at the site of a later prehistoric `marsh fort' on two `islands' of what would have been marshy wetland on the edge of the Humberhead Levels. A complex entranceway was revealed on the western side of the fort, with a timber avenue crossing the palaeochannel and leading to a large timber gateway. The predicted pattern of in situ preservation across the site was also investigated and appeared to be correct.
