Abstract:		 Differential vegetation cover in the wood near Caddington (Bedfordshire) indicated the site, which was excavated to reveal the floor layers of a building that is thought to have been of timber with a thatched roof. A documented legal dispute of AD~1272 may indicate the date of abandonment. The trackways are described, and a sondage was cut through one of them.
