Abstract:
The partial and semi-articulated remains of an aurochs found eroding out of the foreshore of the river Humber are of unknown date, but following comparative and biometrical analysis they appear to be those of an adult cow. Well preserved bones from another individual, which may have been a later, domesticated long-horned animal, had been placed with the first; whether in antiquity or more recently is unclear.
