Abstract:
Preliminary report on the church near Llandrindod Wells abandoned in 16th century; traces of prehistoric, late Roman and Dark Age occupation (flintwork, pits) preceded a small inhumation cemetery. Later, a small 2-cell church was built in stone, to which curved apses built of Roman materials were added at both ends, presumably in 12th/early 13th century. It had leaded windows, but walls were not plastered and paving was not found. Associated with it were 350+ graves in an enclosure.
