Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	About twenty-five sites where heat-shattered pebbles are found are catalogued; two were chosen for contour and geophysical survey. The group compares closely with those in the Birmingham area, and the single radiocarbon date (Sandwell Park) is also comparable. However, heat-shattered pebbles are not all in burnt mounds, nor all of MBA date.
