Abstract:
A 14C date obtained for cremation material associated with a Maritime Bell Beaker centres on 21st century BC (uncorrected), or as early as those for All-Over-Corded Beakers. It raises anew the question of whether AOC were the oldest Beakers or whether they resulted from contact between Maritime and Battle-Axe cultures.
