A review of current archaeological publishing practice in Britain, taking recent experiences in publishing Bath excavations at academic and popular level as a microcosm. Economics of archaeological report publication are discussed, including the use of microfiche, reproduction from typescript (BAR etc), and the importance of county journals. A range of popular productions is also examined. Finally the prospects of computerized bibliography are discussed. |
