NY 185787. Field survey and excavation reports indicate that the hillfort had already been conquered, and a Roman police-post built, before construction and use of the two so-called "siege camps" (probably 2nd century; represented by gun-platforms and living quarters). Stone balls and lead bullets (remains of Roman "shrapnel"?) are the debris of peace-time artillery training.
