Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	The oven from Foxholes Farm, Hertford, was cast in polyurethane foam and then underpinned for insertion of a concrete raft. The final cost of removal to the museum (over £3,000) was almost double that estimated, suggesting that in such lifting work any original estimate should be doubled to allow for unforeseen problems.
