Abstract:
ST 019086. A single-storeyed building of cob on stone footings with open-hearth heating contains one jointed cruck roof-truss smaller and earlier than the others, presumably transferred from an earlier building and connected by a hip-post to the ridge. Close similarities in form and later development with Sanders, Lettaford (74/2561) are noted: for instance, both had low (6ft) partitions for separating all but the inner room, although Little Rull's earlier truss had carried a full-height partition. Refinements included a door with four-centred head and a double hollow moulded bressumer. Date: earlier 16th century?
