Abstract:
A complex sequence showed several main periods: an Iron Age settlement, then an RB one from about AD 70, a 2nd century stone tower granary and long dual-purpose timber-framed house (corn production and milling ?under official control, and possible watermill). Change occurred with the building of a winged corridor villa producing corn and iron, which was remodelled in early 4th by a wealthy owner. In late 4th and early 5th centuries routeways pass through the settlement suggesting a changed focus, with occupation continuing despite dereliction. Substantial finds reports.
