Bioarchaeology needs much closer integration with archaeology as a whole. Some problems are set out: the understanding of brain development, the evolutionary significance of behaviour, the meaning of 'civilization', war and aggression as serious maladaptations of the human species, how to view the past through a correct perspective, the need for appreciation of human feelings. |
