Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Trial excavations in advance of tree re-planting led to a re-assessment of the findings of earlier investigations. An earlier, Late Bronze Age, date is suggested for the construction of the hillfort, and the `ancillary' Romano-British building is identified as a polygonal temple with rectangular entrance chamber. Large quantities of pigs' teeth and skull fragments found nearby indicate that it may have been associated with the cult of the boar. Includes | ||||||||||||||
