Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Three main groups of pottery from Areas 1 and 2 are examined: some Mortlake-style Peterborough Ware and two Later BA groups. Of 10th or 9th century BC are coarseware jars and fineware bowls and cups (Barrett's 'plainware'), associated with pits, hearths, etc in Area l; and of 8th-7th centuries is an assemblage with new forms and fabrics, about half of it decorated, from Area 2. The site has yielded (so far unpublished) pits, huts, and artefacts, and its pottery gains new interest from the Runnymede and Petters Sports Field assemblages. | |||||||||||
