Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reports the recognition of a third aisled hall in the county, at Thinghill Grange, a two-bay hall with cross-wings at either end. The roof is of ridgeless principal rafter type, the slightly cambered collars having cusped raking struts to the principal rafters. Large curved braces support the central truss just below the arcade plate, but the general affinities of the building are with box-frame structures rather than with crucks. | |||
