Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Limited excavation in the city centre showed timber structures replacing stone in late 4th century, followed by early 5th century replanning to create the line of medieval Westgate Street. Preserved organic levels of 9th century indicate an agricultural economy with animal stabling in the town centre. 10th to 12th century levels were also excavated. Specialist reports: Saxon and medieval pottery, seeds, textiles, wood, etc. Au(abr) | ||||||||
