An integral part of London archaeology in the formative years of the late 1960s and 70s, John Earp went on to become a member of the Southwark and Lambeth Archaeological Excavation Committee. His particular field was photography, and in his last years he undertook a photographic survey of Southwark's urban fabric which will be preserved by the Council.
