Abstract:
Discusses the excavation of a site approximately thirty-five metres west of the River Thames, just to the north of Kingston Bridge. The foundations of at least three post-medieval buildings were discovered. The most significant of these was a substantial brick structure dating from the seventeenth century, with part of the original brick floor in situ and walls surviving to a height of 6.67m OD. Several alterations to the structure are noted including the addition of a buttress during the nineteenth-century. The backfill and cartographic evidence suggest that the building was demolished in the second half of the twentieth century.
