Abstract:
This paper presents the results of two seasons of investigation undertaken by the Appleby Archaeology Group at a probable Iron Age farmstead on Brackenber Moor, near Appleby-in-Westmorland. A small assemblage of late Neolithic or early Bronze Age flint artefacts was recovered. Radiocarbon dates suggested that the enclosure itself had been occupied during the Iron Age. This work has the potential to contribute to the study of a series of morphologically similar sites in Cumbria, for which dating evidence is lacking. Au/LD
