The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 NY 274081. Numerous chipping sites are now known in the Pike of Stickle area; one of these, discovered in 1966 on the slopes of Thunacar Knott, was 14C-dated to early 3rd millennium. Limited excavations have now produced broken roughouts and flakes and another 14C date, this time in mid-3rd millennium. A separate site was clearly occupied only by a "finisher". Taking all the British dates for Group VI axes, the main activity at Langdale is in c 2750-2500 BC, though the full extent is not known. Results of pollen analyses are appended.
