Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Catalogues and discusses the significance of thirty-three hoards and possible hoards. The small number compared with other counties is attributable to Cumbria's small acreage of ploughed land. About half the hoards contain indications of their terminal dates: four are Trajanic-Antonine, five fall in the 270s, and there is no indication of the uncertainties of the end of the Roman occupation. | |||
