Abstract:		 Explores the contribution of numismatic evidence to understanding the pattern of military occupation, discussing eight sites producing 100+ coins. The evidence is particularly valuable for determining 1st century foundation dates and 2nd century frontier policy; from mid-2nd, problems of interpretation are greater.
