The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Assessment and excavation in advance of road development revealed an area of occupation dating back to the Mesolithic and including a possible Neolithic to Early Bronze Age farmstead. A period of LIA to RB activity over four phases was also observed, probably indicating a small farm site that would have existed on the outskirts of Roman Godmanchester. Flint from the first two periods (Meso-Neo) was recovered, whilst pottery and burials, including an infant burial, amongst a network of ditches and enclosures marked the IA-RB period. An unusual bronze mount depicting a helmeted human head was also recovered, possibly AS in style.
