Fieldwork added five more barrows to the three known, and more data on Bateman's investigations have come to light. Notes on all eight barrows indicate an evident continuity through Neo-Bkr-BA times. Barrows 1 and 3 each had a primary cist and plano-convex knives of white flint; the disarticulated bones of Barrow 3 suggest an excarnation rite. This cluster is one of the denser concentrations of the Peak District: fuller report in preparation. | ||||||
