Abstract:		 Details the standing angels motif, referring to the similarities between Aston-on-Trent and the tomb of Ralph Greene at Lowick known to be the work of the Chellaston alabaster tomb makers. Consequently, a set of nine tombs dating to 1415--1445 thought to be of similar province is isolated. Stylistic variation is chronicled and compared, finally broadening the argument to take in all tombs created between 1400 and 1450 that employ the motif.
