The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 [SJ 4066]. In the first area explored, to west of the praetorium, two timber buildings (one a ?barrack block) were succeeded in Trajanic times by three stone buildings, a workshop, store and ?tank-base; the workshop continued in use to 3rd or 4th century. In the second area, a long narrow site west of Northgate Street, traces of the timber ?principia were examined, and in the succeeding stone version the sacellum and adjacent rooms were explored. The 1948-9 work of Richmond and Webster was confirmed, but dating remains uncertain. An enigmatic and fragmentary inscription appears administrative rather than military.
