The Chester collection spans much of the Roman period and is remarkable for its number and variety of mirrors, fifteen of which are catalogued and discussed together with four representations of mirrors. Both Italian and northern provincial workshops are represented; the implications are that Chester was wealthy and had strong trade contacts.
