The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Evaluation followed by excavation ahead of construction at a site at Stockton Heath, Warrington, revealed Roman remains flanking the major arterial road that ran north to the important settlement at Wilderspool. Structures, ovens and cremations, dating primarily to the second century AD, were excavated and road construction examined. There was no evidence to suggest anything other than agricultural activity after the Roman period. However, twelve air-raid shelters were excavated within the site during the Second World War, causing widespread destruction to the Roman remains.
