Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Superficially, documentary evidence suggests desertion of the village by 1316, but fieldwork and incidental written sources show otherwise. From a mid-Saxon core post-Domesday expansion occurred along the edge of the common. Decay came only in 16th century. There is no firm evidence of a church. The present farmhouse contains a timber framed manor of c 1600. F B | |||||
