The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Excavation revealed several small pits, some containing larger pieces of burnt flint, beneath the mound and to the side of it a large pit whose waterlogged fills contained a preserved timber trench. Large quantities of organic material were preserved and sampled for plant macrofossils, pollen, insects and molluscs. Palynological analysis produced useful environmental indicators. A grave cut centrally into the top of the mound contained an inhumation which had been buried in a timber coffin or mortuary structure. Charcoal from the mound and bone samples from the skeleton produced a radiocarbon date in the EBA.
