Abstract:		 The Etton causewayed enclosure was discovered in 1976 and was rapidly investigated by the present author and members of the Welland Valley Project in 1981. In 1982 generous funding provided by the British Museum enabled us to investigate far larger areas. This interim report discusses the nature of the non-continuous internal bank, the multiple recutting of the ditch segments and the quantities of worked wood, derived from coppicing and pollarding, including a complete handle of a polished stone axe.
