Abstract:
A substantial part of the nave and crossing of the church of St. Thomas the Martyr at Pagham was excavated prior to the installation of central hearing. Two periods of stone building pre-dating the present standing structure were uncovered, and a fragment of a tenth-century ring-headed cross was found in a grave filling.
