The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Trial excavations in 1987 and 1988 to the north of St Thomas a Becket Church, Cliffe revealed large deposits of compacted chalk. Dating evidence from some of these deposits indicates that they were laid down during the 13th/ 14th century. Other discoveries included a number of rubbish pits/deposits, one of which yielded some interesting inscribed stoneware tankards.
